Worship Guide for 25 July 2021

Dear Friends,

As we’ve heard politicians say, “We’ve been here before. We know how to do it.” I trust the same applies to our worship in lockdown. I’ve attached a prayer guide for you to use at home.

Amidst the days of enforced quiet, I encourage each of us to make time to observe an intentional Sabbath this weekend and commend the attached resource for you. The stillness of Sabbath invites us to turn towards the Source of Life with full attention, to notice the goodness woven through our past into the presence, to give thanks and to be renewed with hope for the future.

May this be your experience as you give yourself to prayer.

Worship Guide for 6 June 2021

Hello all,

Attached is a prayer guide based on Sunday morning’s gathered worship as well as my reflection on the Gospel. Today we began a five-week series during which we will explore our experience of the pandemic with the Gospel according to Mark as our companion.

I emailed a PDF of the resource to accompany this journey at home. Most of you took a paper copy this morning. I still have some left for those who weren’t there this morning and would like one. While the Gospel readings coincide with worship, the resource is suitable for any five-week block.

I also intend to keep up the daily (or near daily!) email reflections for this series.

I look forward to hearing what is emerging for you.

Worship Guide 9 May 2021

Hello all,

I hope everyone had a lovely Mother’s Day yesterday.

I’ve attached yesterday morning’s worship guide for you if you wish to use it or pass it on. The reflection is available here.

Thank you to Avril for writing and offering our prayers of the people. The photo on the front is one I took at Red Banks Conservation Park which Sean and I visited during my recent holiday.

Peace to you,
