St Andrew’s by the Sea Glenelg was a hive of activity on Sunday evening 15 September as worshippers gathered to celebrate their faith and the gift of God’s creation at 7 pm.
Organised annually by the Bay Area Ministers group incorporating local Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Independent, Lutheran and Uniting Churches, the Ecumenical Service drew the faithful and their leaders to share and enjoy worship.
Immediately after worship, fellowship followed in the St Andrew’s church hall where social connections were renewed or initiated over a bountiful bring-a-plate supper that was enjoyed by all.
For those who missed the service, the Ecumenical Order of Service is attached below for download.
The Ministers, Pastors and Priests from the Churches that participated are:
- Rev. Andrews Minter, St Peters Anglican Church
- Rev. Tracey Gracy, Anglican Minister
- Fr. John Herd, Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church
- Rev. Tricia Bishop, Camden Park Baptist Church
- Rev. Anne Hewitt, Chairperson St Andrews Uniting Church
- Pastor Tim Ebbs, St Paul’s Lutheran Church
- Dianne Schroeder, South Western School Ministry
A special collection on the evening raised more than $400 for the St Leonard’s Primary School breakfast program.
Thank you to everyone for this special evening of faith and fun. Special thanks go to the organisers, the bring-a-platers, and the cleaner-uppers.
