Worship Guide for 13 February 2022

Dear All,

We had unusually low numbers yesterday at worship. I am aware of the reasons why some were unable to gather. I hope the others of you remain well and we look forward to your presence among us soon.

I’ve attached the liturgy and reflection from yesterday for you as well as the notice sheet.

Season of Lent

I would draw your attention to the upcoming Season of Lent which begins with Ash Wednesday on 2 March. Before COVID, we would observe the season together beyond worship with small group studies, shared meals, communion etc. It is hard to know what would be appreciated at this stage so I welcome your feedback. Please let me know what you would value and be able to commit to at this stage. We will need at least six people to make a group.

Worship Guide for 6 February 2022

Hello all,

I found it heartening to be together for worship again after our recess. Some were unable to attend for health or other reasons. Attached you will find the liturgy, scripture reading, written reflection and prayers from yesterday.

If you haven’t seen it already, the new digital sign has been installed on Jetty Road. This sign was made possible by a generous gift from the estate of a St. Andrew’s member who passed away a few years ago. We discerned a sign that welcomed and informed the community beyond our doors was in keeping with this person and her service among us. Thank you to Morrie Croucher for his endurance with this project. Thank you, too, to Doreen Koh for making our inaugural slides with their fitting summer colour theme.

Gathered Worship this Sunday, 6 Feb 2022

Dear Friends,

At the Leadership Council yesterday, it was decided we were in a place to resume gathered worship beginning this Sunday, 6 February. In order to help keep ourselves and one another safe and healthy, we agreed to share the following information with you:

  • Please consider getting vaccinated and/or getting a booster (third dose) if you have not done so already. St. Andrew’s will once again host a walk-in clinic in February for all three doses. I will let you know the dates when they are confirmed by the UCG Board and SA Health.
  • Be prepared to QR code or sign-in when you enter so we have a record of your attendance.
  • Please do not attend worship if you are feeling unwell or you are a close contact of someone who has COVID. (See the Uniting Church SA or SA Health websites for the most up-to-date definition of a close contact.)
  • Current health advice recommends the use of surgical or N95 masks against the Omicron variant. Cloth masks are significantly less effective. St. Andrew’s will provide surgical masks for those who wish. Masks will be required.
  • Finally, we intend to limit our inside exposure to 1 hour and therefore we’ll be encouraged to connect with one another outside the courtyard after worship.

As with the ministry throughout the week, we are doing all we can to minimise risk as we remain in community loving, serving and praying. Therefore, with these necessary precautions aside, I hope to see you on Sunday.
