Dear Friends,
Besides the worship resources for this week, you’ll find a flyer attached with the various offerings and times for the Advent and Christmas seasons at St. Andrew’s. There will be hard copies available for those who attend gathered worship. Hopefully this flyer will be a warm invitation and a helpful reminder of what is on at church starting the first Sunday in Advent, 29 November. I’ll send email reminders as well so hopefully you won’t find me a pest!
A few other notices for you:
- Feast Festival Vesper Service – Sunday 22 November at 7:30 pm, we will host a vesper service in the church with reflective music, prayers, and candle lighting bringing a gentle ending to our day. All are invited.
If you are able, please bring a plate of slice on Friday, 20 November by noon. Rather than attempting to serve tea and coffee, we will send people out with a sweet gift and your homemade treats will be appreciated.
- Pantry Items – Between now and Christmas, you are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to gathered worship as part of your offering. As our numbers continue to grow, the pantry is in need of restocking and this is a way we can invest ourselves in the mission of love we share.
- Offering Envelopes – Envelopes for 2021 are now available. This gives me an opportunity to encourage us to continue with our offering to God despite the change in worship practice and inability to receive the collection as part of our worship. We have been blessed to be able to remain a vital place of hospitality and practical care throughout these uncertain times. Our offerings are a symbol of our gratitude and also a way to invest in this important ministry.
I hope you have an enjoyable weekend. I look forward to seeing many of you at gathered worship tomorrow.
If you are worshipping at home, The Home Worship Guide for this Sunday is available here and the Reflection in Solitude is available here.
In peace,
Christine
