Worship Resources for 30 August 2020

Dear Friends,

Predictions are that today (Saturday 29 August 2020) will be a glorious one here in Adelaide. May we find ways to enjoy the warmth and sun.

Attached are the worship resources for this week: The Home Worship Guide and the Reflection in Solitude.

Also, a reminder of the invitation to come along to a Zoom gathering starting this Thursday to learn more about meditation and practice this silent, emptying prayer together. I’ve attached the information flyer for your consideration. Please let me know of your interest to attend so I can send the Zoom link to you.

In peace,

Christine

Mid-Week Blessing 27 Aug 2020

Dear Friends,

I hope you are enjoying the warm, sunny weather this week as much as I am.

I am currently on study leave, participating via Zoom in my final Spiritual Direction formation week with my friends in Victoria. They are certainly doing it tough.

Some of you were gathered at church for worship on Sunday (25 Aug 2020) and heard the Celtic Trio Liminality in which one of the Directors at the Living Well Centre is the harpist. Harpist Cath Connelly played one of their songs (Murray River Dreaming) with photographs for us on Tuesday as part of our morning worship. I thought you might appreciate it:

Also, I was encouraged this week to offer a three-session introduction to Christian meditation course, also via Zoom. A flyer is below for your consideration.

We’ll meet via Zoom the first three Thursdays in September from 7:30-9:00 pm.

Please email me to express your interest and I’ll send you the Zoom link. Feel free to share with any interested friends you may have.

In peace,

Christine

Worship Resources for 23 August 2020

Dear Friends,

Starting this week, we will leave behind the world of Matthew’s Gospel and venture through the wilderness with the Exodus story of freedom. Matthew’s Gospel draws on Exodus for much of its imagery, including the view of Jesus as the new Moses. Therefore, our Exodus series hopes to illuminate the pilgrimage of liberating love and life we are on with Christ.

During Tuesday night prayer the other week, a member shared with us that her daughter tested positive for COVID. This week, her son tested positive as well. Her daughter currently lives in Canada and her son lives in France, making her concern sharper given the great distance. May we hold all of them in our hearts and keep them in our prayers.

The Home Worship Guide for this Sunday is available here and the Reflection is available here.

I look forward to sharing worship with you tomorrow.

In peace,

Christine

Worship Resources for 16 August 2020

Dear Friends,

I hope you were able to find some time to enjoy the warming sun of this day. Click on the links to view the guided prayer and reflection for this week.

Those who wish can gather from 9:45 am for a am 10:00 start in the hall to worship in community. The space is set with the two pot plants about which I speak in the reflection –ready for us to contemplate the new life we are invited to give ourselves to.

Since not everyone is choosing to be part of community at this time, please let us know how you are travelling. If you would like to catch up, please email me and we can make a time to get together.

In peace,

Christine
