Mary’s Kitchen

Mary’s Kitchen operates in the Church Hall each Tuesday night from 6pm-7:30pm.

The soup kitchen is a Christian outreach program established in May 2002 and named in memory of the late Mary McGrath, who was an integral part of St Andrews church community outreach.

Growing from a small core group, Mary’s Kitchen now provides food and support to between 30-50 people each Tuesday night.

Orange Sky Laundry

Patrons of Mary’s Kitchen on Tuesday evenings will also find the Orange Sky Laundry van parked at the front of the church. Volunteers offer a warm smile, a listening ear and take time to chat to people as they use the free washing and drying facilities in the van. Fresh clothes in under an hour!

Orange Sky Laundry began a partnership with Mary’s Kitchen in July 2016 to offer a mobile clothes washing service for the homeless. Orange Sky Laundry is able to operate through generous financial donations of the community and has been a welcome presence at Mary’s Kitchen.

Mary’s Kitchen is generously supported by donations from local Jetty Road traders including Bakers Delight, Coles, Bendigo Bank and Caruso’s Fine Foods. Mary’s is also blessed to have wonderful partnerships with the wider community including St Mary’s Memorial School, Holdfast Rotary, Glenelg Rotary and Edwardstown Lions.
